After the resurrection, Jesus instructed Peter to "feed my lambs and tend my sheep" (John 21:15-17). In our congregation that responsibility of caring for the spiritual needs of our members is assigned to the pastor and deacons. To help facilitate this, the deacons have received assignments to watch over and care for different members of our church family. Some of you may have already received a call from one of our deacons. This is an opportunity to follow up with folks who have not been able to attend worship for a while or who have requested prayer, to share events that are taking place in the member's life or within the congregation, or just getting to know each other better. So, to paraphrase an old cosmetics company's commercial, "Ring, ring, your deacon is calling!" Company's Coming! There will be a tour of many of the houses of worship in Malden on Sunday, April 26, from 1-4 p.m. Our congregation is participating in this event and we look forward to welcoming many visitors from the community that afternoon. This "All Faiths Festival" is also an opportunity for many of us to visit other houses of worship in the city and get to see their facilities and learn more about other denominations and faiths. Each participating house of worship will offer a 15-minute presentation that will be repeated throughout the afternoon. To help get our house in order, the Property Trustees have scheduled another Work Day on April 25 when we will focus on both the inside and outside of the buildings, cleaning up the clutter and debris that has collected over the winter..
