On Saturday, July 24th , the First Baptist Church and the Mercuri-Somerville, MA and Proszkow-Troy, MI families celebrated the wedding of their children, Stephanie M. Mercuri and Michael A. Proszkow. The celebration took place Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with many church members in attendance. It was our own Colonel Joseph W. Mercuri who gave the bride away, and Reverend Martha A. Dominy officiated the ceremony.
Reverend Dominy said, "I have known Stephanie for many years, she has always been involved in many of our church activities including as a junior member of the Christian Education Board. Michael, in the short period, I have known him and am confident of his commitment and responsibility to nurture this loving relationship with Stephanie."
After the ceremony, the wedding couple greeted many of their well-wishers, made one more stop to visit Stephanie's 97 year old great-grandmother Carmela Mercuri who lives in Malden for a photo opportunity. Their entourage then proceeded to The Montvale Plaza in Stoneham for their wedding reception.
Stephanie and Mike will spend their honeymoon on the beautiful islands of Maui and Oahu before returning to their home in Shelby Township, Michigan. We all wish them, our Lord and Saviors' Blessings for a wonderful life together!!
