"Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are. (Matthew 6:19-21)" If you were asked to list the present "Seven Wonder of the World," what would you include? A story circulating on the internet describes the most popular answers provided by a group of students: Egypt's Great Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Grand Canyon, Panama Canal, Empire State Building, St. Peter's Basilica, China's Great Wall. One student, however, struggled to narrow down all the possibilities. When she was asked for her top seven, she replied: to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh, and to love. How often do we focus on the measurable and tangible things of life, and tend to ignore or take for granted the intangible blessings we enjoy? In the above scripture, Jesus tells us to turn our attention away from the temporary things of this earth and concentrate on the eternal things. This Thanksgiving Day, may we join with friends and family in repeating these words of Katherine K. Davis:
